Building on the Foundations

Listen to the talk here.

Today P. Bob Beverley developed the prayer and fast theme of 'Renewing Revival' and spoke about the plan of God for us and the foundation doctrines for revival.  We are to continue to build upon the same foundations in our individual walk, and as a church.

Luke 4:18 'The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, to preach the gospel.. deliverance to the captives.. '

The gospel has not changed. The simplicity of the gospel is that of power, deliverance, unmerited favour (grace) of God, healing, personal experience through the Holy Spirit.  'Not in word only but in power and the Holy Ghost'

II Tim 1:12 - .. For I know who I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able, to keep that which I've committed against that day'

God has equipped us fully with his Word and his Holy Spirit with what we need to be saved, to stay saved and to bring others into the Kingdom of God.   He has given us the responsibility to look after our corner of the vineyard and to do it well.

Heb 6:1- '...leaving the foundations of the doctrine of Christ... Repentance from dead works, Faith, Baptisms, Laying on of Hands, Resurrection of the Dead, Eternal Judgement.'

These are the foundation doctrines of Christianity and of our belief. Don't let the extra-ordinary manifestations of the presence of God in our midst become 'ordinary' to us.
