We had an awesome night of great food & conversation at the international dinner night at Canberra (Chandler St) Revival Fellowship on Saturday.
There was a huge range of dishes from all over the world, and as there was plenty to eat, it was great to return to the buffet for 4ths (or even 5ths) for some.
Pr Chris ran a very successful trivia night - with questions that came from all over the world. Our team managed to win the kids round (and hopefully have retained some other facts for another day).
How better to spend a cold night than with heaps of great food and fun amongst friends.
Thankyou to Alan Desmond and Angela Fitzgerald and their team of helpers for organising such a wonderful event.

A wonderful time of blessing and fellowship was had by all who attended the annual Revival Fellowship Convention held in Fremantle, WA over the June long weekend.
The theme of Convention was 'Just as Promised' and we heard from many who testified of God's miraculous healing and provision in their lives. We also listened to some great thoughts from the word of God, inspiring music and updates from the work in Bali, Vanuatu and Africa.
A total of 13 people were baptised by full immersion during the course of the weekend, with many also receiving the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
Some of the personal healing testimonies we heard over the weekend were:
- a lady who had no optic nerve in her right eye from birth, but has been healed and is now able to see from that eye
- a lady who was healed of multiple sclorosis (MS) 2 days after a prayer and fasting for a healing
- two healings from bi-polar disorder
- the miraculous birth of a baby that was originally shown by scans to be outside the womb (ektopic), but after prayer moved back inside the womb and was safely delivered
- deliverance from addiction to drugs and alcohol
We heard some wonderful ministry and updates from Revival Fellowships all around the world.
P. Colin Tan from Singapore reminded us that our belief is not just intellectual, but a real experience. P. Jock Duncan (Adelaide) spoke of how broken promises by others can make us doubt God's promises - but we can know that God cannot lie and be fully persuaded that he is able to keep his promises. Pr Darryl Williams (Melbourne) also spoke about dealing with our fear and being persuaded that God has both the resources and reliability to fulfil all his promises.
Canberra was represented by P. Bob who presented an update on the work in Vanuatu. Joanne and Bridget also performed a wonderful item, supported by P. David on the piano. And then we had a great video promo for the Convention in Canberra 2009 (thanks to Mick and Lauren for doing this in a hurry)!
Another highlight of the weekend was hearing about the wonderful growth in Africa, where there are now Revival Fellowships in 10 countries. In Kenya there are now 52 assemblies and 1300 saints in fellowship, Zambia has 690 saints and 7 assemblies and a work has been established in Zimbabwe this year, with 80 people baptised already this year.
And finally - of course we enjoyed lots of great fellowship and were encouraged by the zealousness and love of our brothers and sisters from all around the world.
For all those who missed out you can download all of the ministry here.
The good news is... Convention is in Canberra in 2009 - so make sure you don't miss out!

Chandler St upgrade meeting
On Thursday 26 June, 7.30 pm P.David is inviting all those with an interest in planning for the future best use of the hall, adapting & refreshing our 30 year old building.
We've already been making some changes (Crying room; Café area; Creche/YMCA area), planning others (Entry and foyer refresh; Sunday school; Kitchen), but there are still others that are no more than rough concepts (Prayer room; youngies room; Breakout room(s); Stage refresh etc).
Its not a small job and could take a few years to see through completely, but P.David would like to start a process of identifying a bit of a master plan for this work and see how it can be implementated.
Please come if you have ideas or would like to be involved.

"Canberra Revival Fellowship Has Released The New Website"
After two years (and a lot of hours) of preliminary work, the completion of the framework for the new website has been finalised.
Chandler St Church and Southside Revival Fellowship now have a new combined website.
The aim of this website is two fold: Communication & Community
The new website will help encourage better communication and interaction by allowing us to:
o Receive the latest information of what is happening around our church,
o Download copies of the current weeks inspirational message, and
o Encourage each other with testimonies and motivating articles.
But it is not just for us!
We want our community to know all about us and to experience the same joy we have. The new website gives our community a safe and informative way to find out all about what goes on in our church, allowing them to discover that our church is the place for them.
Some members who checked out the site recently commented:
"The site looks fantastic! Easy to navigate, well structured information and plenty of great photos" Angela Fitzgerald
"David defeated Goliath with a simple tool - a sling shot and a rock thrown in the right direction. This simple web site has the same power if we send it out in the right direction too"
But it is not completely finished - we need your help!
For the website to reach its full potential it requires your input. Everyone can contribute by:
o Providing written testimonies, articles and ideas, and
o Letting your friends know about the site.
If you have some content to include or an idea, please speak to Angela Nagy or Brenden Taylor.

Soul Sistas Camp 2008
About 35 young and young-ish women from the Canberra and region assemblies recently enjoyed a weekend of fun and fellowship together at the annual 'Soul Sistas' camp in Nowra.
The theme of the camp this year was 'Blessed are the Peacemakers' and we had a great time sharing discussion over the Word of God about various aspects of this topic: Such as the importance of loving yourself and being at peace with yourself so you can be a peace with others; forgiveness and sharing the gospel of peace with others.
Among the many highlights of the weekend was the opportunity to pray for one another and share simple fellowship with like-minded sisters in Christ. We also had a lot of fun - a car rally took us on a scenic tour of the region - with many memorable moments. Our teams had to stop at a certain house (belonging to Tamsyn's in-laws) and then ordered to move 50 bricks and pull up a bucket of weeds! The little interlude at the TREAT factory was a definite highlight! The rally finished at the Tea House looking out over the Shoalhaven region.
The surprise event on Saturday night had us all learning a new skill. we also had some star students... just ask someone who went!!
The weekend culminated in our visit to the Nowra fellowship for the Sunday meeting and a lovely fellowship lunch.
Thank you to EVERYONE who worked so hard to organise this weekend - it was a blessing to all who went and we can't wait till next year!!
